The future of BPM

BPM: The growth trend

BPMS solutions (Business Process Management) is the second fastest growing business application in the market, after systems security architecture, according to prestigious IT consultancies. One of the main causes of this trend lies in the business applications only being alble to 30% of the business process requirements of a company, and therefore creating a significant gap between the company requirements and application responses.
Almost half of all executives Worldwide recognized that they intervene manually when it is necessary to compensate for the missing functionalities in their business applications. 34% report inflexibility problems and limitations. And 21% confess that the applications limit their service offering. In this context, BPM solutions are presented as a strategic advantage with a high added value for companies that implement them.

The current global environment demands constant change to overcome the competition with innovation and performance for clients of all kinds and sizes: INDUSTRIES. Everyone asks the same questions:

• How can we improve the levels of our client assistance service and increase productivity without incurring extra costs?
• How do we manage risk and regulations without losing our competitive advantage?
• How do we encourage our employees to innovate in the development of new products, new markets and new ways to delight clients?

Process management is the answer and implies much more than simple information flows by information systems. It means the design and orientation of the processes of a company with a focus on the client. To understand it and provide the fulfillment of needs in a quick and simple way means automating and centralizing the main variables that Gartner establishes as critical when differentiating a company: functions, services, processes and information.

Projections

Given this context, process management will continue its sustained growth by increasing the quantity of products that they use, STANDARDS, for the interrelation of processes outside of organizations. They will also incorporate more tools to maintain control over them, GOVERNANCE, maintaining integration through the increase in services, SOA.
AVAILABILITY to be able to participate in the processes regardless where they are (Mobile Functionalities) and INTEGRATION with BI tools (Balanced Scorecard, BAM) are the key aspects in what the future of this trend is based on.
